Application Guidelines

Please carefully review the following application instructions and deadlines. 

IMPORTANT DATES

Application Deadline: The next application deadline is April 4, 2025.

Award Selections: Awards will be announced by May 2, 2025.

Grant Funding Allocated: The Brown Fund project period corresponds to the Baylor fiscal year, June 1 through May 31.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURES

Please compile the below application components and email them to Washington@baylor.edu:*

Application Checklist

❑    Complete application form (see below)

❑    Brief non-technical abstract of proposal (1 paragraph); see below for more details

❑    Project proposal (limit 3 pages, not including bibliography); see below for more details

❑    Short biographical sketch for each investigator (1 paragraph each)

❑    Current cv for each investigator

❑    Any supporting materials described in application/proposal

*Only applications submitted electronically to Baylor in Washington email will be considered. Paper applications are not accepted.

Project Proposal Guidelines

The project proposal is limited to three single-spaced pages (1500 words) and should address the following points.

  • Rationale

  • Specific objectives

  • Potential significance

  • Plan of work (procedures and methods). Attach a brief project timeline as “supporting material”

  • Plans for project results

Non-technical Abstract

All proposals must include an abstract of no more than one to two paragraphs in length, written in non-technical language appropriate for a lay audience. Acronyms may be used if they are adequately explained. Abstracts of funded proposals will be published on the Baylor in Washington website.
